🎧 A word from Rhodie: my journey and what guides my work

My journey
When engineering meets professional presence

My journey has taught me that professional success does not rest solely on what we know. It also depends on how our expertise is perceived, communicated, and made visible.

Trained as a telecommunications engineer, I worked in demanding professional environments, notably at Cisco Systems and in the aviation sector.

These observations and my desire to change these statistics then led me toward image and fashion, with training at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York and over ten years of experience as an image consultant.

These experiences helped me understand the reality I see today with my clients: as a career evolves, the demands change. Being competent is no longer enough. You must also know how to occupy your role, represent your value, and make your expertise clearly perceptible.

Today, I bring these two worlds together to support professionals and organizations who want to evolve their presence without having to become someone else.

Expertise
Where expertise comes together

My work sits at the intersection of several fields: professional image, communication, style, positioning, governance, and diversity in the workplace.

My additional training in governance and in equity, diversity, and inclusion enriches this comprehensive strategic vision.

I work particularly with people whose expertise is strong and often highly technical: engineers, lawyers, scientists, finance professionals, and other specialized experts. Some need to gain more visibility; others are moving toward responsibilities in governance, representation, or leadership.

My role is to create the conditions for professionals and leaders to fully occupy their posture, represent their organization with confidence, and make their value natural and self-evident.

Rhodie Lamour — International Journey
An international journey
From one shore to the other: a global vision

Born in Haiti and shaped by a rich international journey, I lived and studied for 18 years in the Dominican Republic, where I earned my degree in telecommunications engineering at PUCMM.

Settling in Canada, combined with my work alongside leaders and organizations from diverse backgrounds, brings a deeply multicultural, human, and strategic understanding of communication and professional presence.

Media Expertise
Expertise that is also shared through the media

My work also finds expression through writing, public speaking, and the media. I am an author, co-author, and speaker. My book Amour et Style : Un couple gagnant is published in French, English, and Spanish. I also write articles and take part in media and cultural projects.

As a professional model, with internationally awarded portraits and a jewellery line created in my likeness, I have experienced the exposure of my own image firsthand. These experiences gave me an inside understanding of the challenges tied to visibility and perception. They now give me a valuable perspective on what my clients go through when they must represent an organization or evolve their presence, allowing me to support them with precision and relevance.

Speaker and Trainer
From expertise to professional presence

An adult trainer since 2006, I work with organizations and leaders through talks, training, workshops, and tailored coaching, in Canada and internationally.

All of my programs are built on my 3A method for Authentic Style and Professional Positioning:

  • Accept: Take an honest, clear-eyed look at your current presence.
  • Learn: Master the technical mechanics and the codes of image.
  • Own: Embody your posture with confidence and authority.

The result: A clear methodology that ensures measurable, lasting transformations.

My motivation
Why I do this work?

My motivation is to help professionals recognize their own possibilities, understand what makes them distinctive, and build a presence aligned with their goals.

Whether it is speaking publicly, moving into governance, building visibility, representing an organization, or simply fully occupying a new role, my work is to create the conditions for expertise to be seen, understood, and recognized.

Art & Harmony
Art, music, and connection

Music is also part of my professional and family life. I play the piano and share this artistic side with my husband Jean-Éric Masséna, a saxophonist, and our children, who are also active in music.

This passion naturally gave rise to a family project that brings together music, gastronomy, and networking in experiences designed to create connections differently.

This dimension complements my work in image and positioning: I deeply believe that professional relationships are also built in spaces where people can connect, discover, and build ties in a different way.

My commitments
Engaged in my ecosystem

My work does not stop at supporting my clients. I also believe in creating spaces where professionals can be seen, heard, and propelled forward.

From 2021 to 2023, I served as regional president of the RFAQ, then as ambassador for the Prix Femmes d'affaires du Québec for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 editions, to help increase the visibility and recognition of other businesswomen.

I have also served on the board of directors of the CCIL, I am an active mentor with LatInspire, and I volunteer with Haitian diaspora initiatives, notably in Santo Domingo and Montreal.

I also regularly share my expertise through talks and training offered to professional associations and to various causes close to my heart.

For me, getting involved also means creating the conditions for others to take their place.

Commitment and Values
An inclusive and resilient image

I believe everyone should be able to take their place, build their visibility, and make their value perceptible without having to give up who they are.

My approach takes into account the diversity of backgrounds, cultures, professional environments, and individual realities. My training in equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), along with my experience in varied professional environments, informs this perspective.

I am particularly interested in situations where some professionals need to make their expertise more visible, move into governance responsibilities, or take their place in environments where professional codes are not always familiar to them.

I also support initiatives that contribute to a more inclusive society and that give people back the opportunity to fully take their place.
